A strategic acquisition, that will allow the Group to strengthen its position in continental Europe
Nactarome Group, portfolio company of Ambienta SGR SpA (“Ambienta”), Europe’s largest sustainability-focused private equity investor, has successfully completed the acquisition of Pharmorgana GmbH of Eppstein. This acquisition will allow the group to strengthen its positioning in continental Europe and offer a better and more proximate service to its partners and customers in Germany and the neighbouring regions.
Thomas Ungerbiller, who has been at the helm of Pharmorgana since 2020, is delighted: “Despite the increasing globalization of ingredients suppliers within the F&B industry, Pharmorgana will be able to further implement its already established market presence by offering its customers the experience, know-how and products of the entire Nactarome group. We look forward to leveraging the product portfolio with our in-depth knowledge of the use of colours in the Life Sciences segment”.
Pharmorgana GmbH was founded in 1983 near Frankfurt and operates as a distributor and technical support particularly in the area of food colourings. It has helped to create a solid and significant presence for Fiorio Colori in the German market, both in the F&B sector and especially in Life Sciences – cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, detergents, personal care as well as niche applications such as inks and agricultural products. The acquisition of Pharmorgana’s offices and warehouse is a strategic step in consolidating Nactarome’s presence in both the key German market and the rest of continental Europe.
The enthusiasm is also shared by Tonio Grassmann, CEO of AromataGroup, the Italian subsidiary of the Nactarome Group as well as Pharmorgana’s holding company: “Our relationship with Pharmorgana, developed over years of collaboration, will be further strengthened and thanks to their technical and commercial expertise we will be able to extend our presence in the DACH region (Germany – Austria – Switzerland) both in traditional segments and by opening up new opportunities”.
After a dynamic growth through a series of strategic acquisitions completed over the last 2.5 years and with the support of Ambienta, Nactarome is now strengthening its technical and operational presence in the main European countries, with the aim to offer a proximity service to its clients.
